While I'm still sore about the Hayate fiasco, this news bout Haruhi may make me revise the conditions of my Bandai boycott.

In fact it may be more effective to buy only the dubs that Bandai produces. Or maybe I'm just trying to find a way to justify buying more Haruhi swag.

Let's just hope that for the season 2 releases, they cut it out with the whole Limited Edition crap. If I'm given the option between the exact same product, but one costs more, I'm going to pick the bare-bones DVD. I'm not paying ten to fifteen dollars extra just to play Haruhi dress-up (as fun as that sounds).Dr. Wilderhttp://www.youtube.com/user/TheRealDrWildernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6077464351349923045.post-43970389060054282382010-04-19T20:14:02.086-07:002010-04-19T20:14:02.086-07:00@ Braves: While I personally think all shows shoul...@ Braves: While I personally think all shows should get an English dub, I'm not going to attack you for wanting to see a show that you really like get some kind of release, even if it's sub-only. (I'd love to see Mononoke too, though I'd prefer a hybrid release of course.)

I want companies to think of an English dub as a valuable contribution rather than some add-on for TV and for fans to realize that dubs are important. (And maybe there are ways to pay for dubs that aren't been explored.)Richard J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02900584044204209540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6077464351349923045.post-17112804383341686862010-04-19T15:17:21.621-07:002010-04-19T15:17:21.621-07:00Getting a Masaaki Yuasa anime released over here (...Getting a Masaaki Yuasa anime released over here (even if it's just streaming for now) is the best thing to happen in R1 land in a long time.

I know this probably won't go well on this blog, but if FUNimation were to actually release all of Yuasa's previous work sub-only then I'd be happy.

Heck, and there are bunch of other Noitamina shows that need releasing over here too. Some of the more outlandish ones (Mononoke, Trapeze, etc.)really don't need a dub because the people who'd be attracted to them wouldn't mind reading subs anyways. Even though they're short and the cost of dubbing them wouldn't be that much in comparison to longer series, I don't see those being big sellers in any way. Their releases would be more of a sign that any given company that releases them would be concerned about showcasing more experimental stuff along with making money on the side.braveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04714511376654220125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6077464351349923045.post-61026465945233600062010-04-16T05:29:33.267-07:002010-04-16T05:29:33.267-07:00Mornings are evil, so I have to make this short, s...Mornings are evil, so I have to make this short, since I have to go work.

Yes there are many good animes out there right now that I want dubbed. Like K-on and Index, I'd like to know more on them. But I refuse to look them up. More or less so I don't get spoiled.

As for the Haruhi movie, I guess that is ok. Haruhi, like Lucky Star, I don't love or hate it. I guess meh is the best, way I feel about it. But at least we get to see the movie.

As for the simulcast cast, it will be interesting to see how they do it. If it is like Kurokami it took a while to get the DVD's out. Oh well, time will tell.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6077464351349923045.post-59974353908848824362010-04-16T05:00:05.787-07:002010-04-16T05:00:05.787-07:00I am looking forward to the Disappearance of Haruh...I am looking forward to the Disappearance of Haruhi movie with muchly baited breath.

Funi sadly continues to disappoint me with their license choices. They have yet to license anything I would be remotely interested in watching. Well, there is Chobits rescue, but since I already have that...I may have to consider a different hobby if this keeps up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6077464351349923045.post-87754361986528561252010-04-15T22:55:14.078-07:002010-04-15T22:55:14.078-07:00@ bal-anime: Yeah, I know we're low on info ab...@ bal-anime: Yeah, I know we're low on info about how simulcast titles will be handled, I'm just speculating.

And yes, Haruhi movie will be extremely awesome!Richard J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02900584044204209540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6077464351349923045.post-46872738091903016392010-04-15T22:47:33.373-07:002010-04-15T22:47:33.373-07:00Haruhi movie's gonna be so awesome! Also, we have yet to see how these titles will be handled beyond their simulcasts. I hope they get DVD releases eventually. (with fabulous dubs of course)

Oh look Index and Railgun. Yeah I've seen those around too despite not watching either. I'd gladly buy them when/if they get licensed, they look like fun!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
